Boundless Grace Society
Leave a legacy of health and hopeā¦become a member of International Child Care's "Boundless Grace Society" through a planned gift.
International Child Care has been delivering health and hope to children in Haiti and the Dominican Republic for over thirty years. Gifts from our faithful and generous donors have allowed ICC to respond to those who need it most in a place that is most in need. The Boundless Grace Society is a group of ICC supporters who have committed to making a planned gift that will leave a lasting legacy of health and hope for the children of Haiti and the Dominican Republic.
Types of Planned Giving...
There are many different mechanisms available to you and your family to give a planned gift to International Child Care. It is always advisable to consult with your personal financial advisor and/or attorney to decide how you can get the maximum impact and benefit from your gift. ICC is available to work with you or your representative to facilitate this process. Contact the U.S. national office about planned giving at 1-800-722-4453.
Opportunities for Planned Giving
Bequests in a Will
One of the most common types of planned giving is to leave a bequest in a will. A will allows you and your family to direct the distribution of your estate exactly how you desire. If International Child Care USA is listed as one of the beneficiaries, the executor of your estate will direct the appropriate funds to ICC, often avoiding probate and other estate taxes.
Beneficiary in a Life Insurance Policy
You can name International Child Care USA as a primary or secondary beneficiary in an insurance policy. This is especially useful if you purchased a policy a long time ago to provide for children or family members who may no longer need the policy's protection.
A Gift of Appreciated Assets
If you have an asset that has appreciated, like stock or real estate, ICC is able to accept the gift and liquidate it. This gives you the full benefit of the tax deductible donation without having to worry about capital gains or income taxes from liquidating the asset. ICC receives the full benefit of your generosity and you maximize your estate and tax benefits.
Trusts and other Estate Planning Mechanisms
You and your family may wish to set up a trust fund with ICC that would provide current income to family members, with delayed benefit to the organization. There are many types of trusts. Your financial advisor can work with ICC professionals to set up the right kind of trust for your estate. There are many advantages to a trust. It can be a wonderful way to continue to gain from your investments, while still leaving a sizeable gift for God's work in mission with ICC. Often a trust is an optimal way to both provide for your family's needs and give to ICC.
Ways to Give to International Child Care
A planned gift benefits ICC in the present, but even more so, it helps the organization plan for the future. By placing a portion of undesignated planned gifts in our endowment fund, we are providing for the future support of our programs and any unforeseen emergency situations.
Direct Gift of Stocks (Appreciated Assets) ICC has an account with a well-known firm. All you need to do is contact our office so your gift of stock can be directly and electronically processed and routed. Remember, in most cases when a gift of appreciated assets is given this way, you receive the utmost benefit and your donation goes much further than if you were to liquidate the asset first.
Gifts of Real Estate Each gift of property must be handled with maximum attention to stewardship so your generosity is maximized. Normally, ICC will work with your local estate professionals to liquidate the property asset in the most appropriate manner. Our professional staff will be glad to work with you and your financial advisor to set up and design a mechanism that will best suit your needs and, at the same time, provide generous support to International Child Care and the children of Haiti and the Dominican Republic.
