Coming This October: Haiti Dance Ensemble
International Child Care will be hosting the Haitian dance troupe Ayiti Dans Ansan'm (ADA) from October 6th to the 20th at venues across Ohio, Michigan and Illinois. During the hour-long performance, ADA will use interpretive dance, set to traditional Haitian drum rhythms, to illustrate the beauty of Haiti's history, culture and people.
One of the dancers, Gregory Adrien, will also share about the positive impact International Child Care has had on his life. Gregory was a 12-year-old orphan when he came to Grace Children's Hospital seriously ill with tuberculosis and malnutrition. Good food, clean water and medication helped Gregory regain his strength, but when he was well enough to be released he had no place to go. There was something extra special about Gregory and the medical staff at Grace Children's Hospital couldn't help but treat him like their own. Gregory ended up staying at the hospital long after he was well, which allowed the dedicated staff to find a suitable place for him to live. Gregory has since graduated from high school, works at a home for children with disabilities, and travels and performs with Ayiti Dans Ansan'm.
Please come and enjoy the talented performance of ADA and support the work of International Child Care in Haiti. Tickets will be sold at the door for a suggested donation of $10 for adults and $6 for children under the age of 12. All proceeds will be split between ADA and Grace Children's Hospital.
