ICC Celebrates Arrival of Mobile Clinic Vehicle

On November 7, International Child Care’s office in Haiti received a Mobile Health Clinic donated by the Mobile C.A.R.E Foundation in Chicago, IL. The clinic, which is a converted bus, will be used for community health clinics, mobile eye clinics and other health services for adults and children in the Port-au-Prince community, especially those living in tent cities as a result of the January earth quake.
The U.S. Military High-Speed Vessel the Swift delivered the clinic to the main port in Port-au-Prince and presented it to ICC Haiti National Director Dr. Rudy Magoloire. The U.S. Embassy was also present at a brief ceremony officially turning the vehicle over to ICC Haiti. Two drivers and ICC Haiti’s public-relations coordinator attended, along with a representative from the U.S. Embassy.
Also present at the docks was ICC Haiti’s partner Pure Water for Haiti, which received a number of water filters, which come at a crucial time as concerns over cholera continue to rise.
