Trips to Haiti Changing Lives

Since Grace Children’s Hospital opened in 1967, dedicated volunteers from North America have been visiting Haiti to support ICC programs. Early visitors had roles that are now usually filled by Haitian professionals, but the visits to Grace, and later our programs in the Dominican Republic, have not stopped.

Visitors to ICC programs in Haiti and the Dominican Republic now visit through our Mission Education Encounter program. You can learn more about the trips here and contact ICC here to inquire about a trip. A common thread in all of our visitors’ comments is that a trip to Haiti or the Dominican Republic is a life-changing experience; some of our visitors have gone on to be involved with ICC as board members, returned to Haiti many more times to offer their help, or even adopted children from Haiti.

Trips are specialized to the interests and skills of visiting groups: sometimes groups perform medical or specialized construction work, while other groups spend more time on program visits or general labor. Since the earthquake, many teams have traveled to Haiti to help with earthquake relief and demolition of the damaged hospital buildings. We anticipate that these needs will continue, and welcome visitors from around the world to Grace Children's Hospital and our other programs in Haiti and the Dominican Republic.  Plan your trip today!
