One out of every eight children in Haiti will not live to see their fifth birthday because a preventable disease will claim their precious, young lives. It was this unjust circumstance that led Jim and Virginia Snavley to sell their farm in Indiana, move to Haiti and open Grace Children’s Hospital for children with tuberculosis in 1967.

Since then, International Child Care’s programs in Haiti have expanded to include a variety of community-based health services, and our focus has shifted toward preventative care, health education, and other projects that target the root causes of sickness and suffering.
